Welcome

This site shares material about the enigmatic webs of nature and the conflicted wonder that is the human race.  For some of it, contemplation is enough, other aspects need a good dose of advocacy, all are intersections of my work, travels and moss-gathering.

Most posts are articles and photo essays about politics, environment and culture, recent and retro.  Indigenous People have a special place here because they hold the key to lost souls and alternatives to the madness of our development paths.  Refugees matter, because their journeys are also ours.

We can’t go without food, but dabbling in cross-cultural flavors enriches our world views as well, so help yourself to the recipes posted here, edibility guaranteed from my own multicultural family kitchen, plus maybe a useful word or two in another language.

Have fun, leave a comment, pass it on.  All articles and photos are mine, unless otherwise stated.  Please acknowledge as per the site’s Creative Commons License.

  1. The Ecology of Things articulates how the threads that bind environment, economy and society are in danger of unravelling, and yet it provides a refreshing change from unhelpful voices of doom and gloom.
Thankyou and please keep the writings coming… forward to a better world.

  2. Thanks for your posts. I enjoyed visiting. The archives are a great idea and the photos are brilliant. I will look out for the rest of it.
